AGILITY
Agility classes run on Thursday nights from 6:30pm for setup, with classes from 7:00-8:00pm. Members are expected to assist with setup and pack down of equipment. There is no junior agility training during school holidays, and we do not train during the Royal Show week in September. For more information, see our Term Dates/Events page. Dogs showing any sign of injury, illness, or "in season" are not permitted to train. Likewise, if you are unwell, please stay home. |
New Members
To train agility, your dog must be over 12 months old, and you must pass an assessment or have been already training Agility at a suitable level with another recognised club.
Assessments take place on Monday nights at our obedience classes. To be successfully assessed, you must be able to demonstrate control of your dog off lead in a stimulating environment and have a reliable recall.
As agility is an off-lead activity and the atmosphere is very exciting for dogs, uncontrolled/aggressive dogs are not permitted.
To join us, please visit our Membership page.

What To Bring
Collar and Lead
Dogs should be wearing a correctly fitting collar and leash of approximately 1-1.5m.
Flat collars, martingale collars, haltis and head collars are all permitted.
Chain leads, choke chains, prong collars and shock collars are strictly not permitted.
Treats
Chicken, diced meat, sausage or polony (NOT hard kibble/biscuits type).
Dicing up left over meats etc. and freezing in bagged lots ready for training nights is a great and convenient idea. Remember, this is your dog's "pay", so make it worth working for!
Treat Pouch
To enable ready access to treats for your dog, we recommend the use of a treat pouch,
'bum' bag, or wearing pants with large pockets.
Toys
Playing is a great way to reward your dog, and give them a break from learning.
Bring a couple of your dog's favourite toys - tug toys are a great way to motivate and reward your dog at the same time.
Please do not bring squeaky toys as they distract other dogs.
Bowl and water
Learning is hard work! Please make sure you have a drink available for your dog during training, regardless of the weather.
Crate
Dogs are not to be left tethered or unattended. When not working, please leave your dog in a crate or in the car.
At no stage during set up, training, or pack up, should dogs be tied to equipment or equipment trolleys.
Handler Attire
Handlers must wear suitable closed footwear (no thongs or scuffs) and appropriate clothing.
